August Exploration Walk: The Underground Railroad Trail (1)

While we at B More Global firmly believe that travel abroad can be a life-changing experience, there are many reasons why overseas travel may not be appropriate for your next trip. It’s easy to incorporate local travel into your everyday life so you can be an explorer all year.

About The Event

The Underground Railroad Experience Trail allows you to explore within your own community, while getting to experience the beauty behind its history. During your visit to the park you will be walking the trail of the enslaved who were once seeking freedom. As you go along your journey, consider how escaping slaves may have used bramble patches, hollow trees, and other natural features to guide them, as "slave catchers" patrolled the fields and woods, and be sure to take in all aspects of the experiences left behind by brave souls of the past.

Click here to access our suggested itinerary for your visit, complete with historical facts. The trail is approximately a 35-40 minute drive from downtown Baltimore, and we recommend allocating ~2 hours to complete the full itinerary of activities.

Be sure to share your photos on Instagram and/or checking into our event on Facebook with #BMoreAdventurous!

*NOT accessible by public transit, but look forward to our future Exploration Walks which will mostly be public transit-friendly*
